Where do I get information about admissions for an undergraduate degree in RMI? |
| |
|
| |

Your first stop for information should be University Admissions, phone: 404.651.2365 and email: admissions@gsu.edu.

What are the requirements for an undergraduate degree in RMI? |
| |
|
| |
The degree you will earn is a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a major in RMI. Two sources provide good information about BBA-RMI degree regulations.
The most recent Undergraduate Catalog can be downloaded here.

Who do I talk to about credit for Advanced Placement (AP) courses, my International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma, CLEP exams, and courses transferred from another college? |
| |
|
| |
You should ensure that any relevant transcripts are submitted to the University Registrar’s Office and direct your questions to them at onestopshop@gsu.edu. |
| |
|
| 5. |
What if I already have an undergraduate degree? |
| |
|
| |
Consider one of the RMI Department’s several graduate programs first. If you are not eligible for these or you are not ready, then consider taking undergraduate RMI coursework as a post-baccalaureate student rather than as an undergraduate degree-seeking student. You should contact the Admissions Office at 404.651.2365 or admissions@gsu.edu for an application to enroll as a post-baccalaureate student. |

What financial aid is available, and how can I apply? |
| |
|

Financial aid generally comes in three forms: grants, loans, and scholarships. Grants and loans eligibility is based on need while scholarship eligibility is more commonly based on merit, or merit and need.
Information on financial aid made available through government subsidies and the university can be found here.
Information on scholarships available through the RMI Department can be found here. |

Who is my advisor? |
| |
|
| |
If you are a freshman or sophomore (i.e., you have earned less than 42 credit hours) or you are still undecided about a major, your academic advisor is in the university’s Student Advisement Center (SAC) at 255 Sparks Hall: 404.463-9500 (phone) and sacadvise@gsu.edu (email)
If you are a Robinson College of Business student, and have earned at least 42 college credit hours, your academic advisor is in the RCB’s Office of Undergraduate Academic Assistance on the 3 rd floor of the RCB Building at 35 Broad Street, 404.651.1913 (phone) and ouaa@gsu.edu (email).
At any point in your college career, if you need information about RMI-specific issues (e.g., schedule of RMI courses, career advice, approval of a major course substitution, etc.), contact the RMI Department's undergraduate program advisor at 404.413.7500. |

Who decides when I get to register for courses each semester? |
| |
|
| |
Generally, the university Registrar’s Office does this by credit hours earned. The more credit hours already earned, the earlier your registration appointment. Exceptions include students with special restrictions regarding times they can take classes or classrooms that are accessible to them, such as student athletes, Incept members and some disabled students. |
| |
|
| 3. |
Can I have a dual major (e.g., finance and RMI)? |
| |
|
| |
Yes, you can. For more information, contact the RMI Department's undergraduate program advisor at 404.413.7500. |
| |
|
| 4. |
What can I do if GoSolar will not allow me to register for one of the RMI courses due to a missing prerequisite course? |
| |
|
| |
Students who do not have the prerequisites for a course will not be allowed to register for that course.
Credit for Transferred Courses: Occasionally a student may have taken a course at another school that was not properly equated with the equivalent GSU course in the GSU database. If this is the problem, contact Academic Assistance in the appropriate college to verify their records. The phone numbers for Academic Assistance are:
Arts and Sciences (404) 651-2291
Business (404) 651-1913
Education (404) 651-2539
Health Sciences (404) 651-3064
Public and Urban Affairs (404) 651-3504
Students should also notify the RMI Department's undergraduate program advisor at 404.413.7500.
Transient and Post-Baccalaureate Students: Transient and Post-Baccalaureate students may show up as violating prerequisites because their records are not in the computer database. Transient and Post-Baccalaureate students may request a prerequisite waiver by contacting Dr. Schneider in the RMI Department.
ALL 1000-2000 LEVEL COURSES MUST BE COMPLETED WITH A GRADE OF "D" OR BETTER TO COUNT TOWARD YOUR DEGREE AND FOR PREREQUISITES. ALL 3000-4000 LEVEL COURSES MUST BE COMPLETED WITH A GRADE OF "C" OR BETTER TO COUNT TOWARD YOUR DEGREE AND FOR PREREQUISITES. |

I heard that the RMI Department is proposing changes to the undergraduate RMI curriculum. Is this true, and how does it affect me? |
| |
|
| |
Yes, we are. The newly-proposed program of study for the BBA-RMI degree can be downloaded here. The RMI Department is proposing these changes primarily to keep our students ahead in the competitive careers marketplace. We believe that the proposed curriculum will broaden your opportunities as a BBA-RMI degree holder.
If you have already declared RMI as your major or will declare prior to 8/01/07, then the proposed changes will likely not affect your degree requirements directly. They could affect you indirectly, however, as these changes make a difference in which courses we offer and when they are offered.
If you declare the RMI major after 8/01/07, you should expect to be directly affected by the curriculum change. If approved by the university, the program changes are expected to become effective at that time. |
